The Lockwood Solvents Site is located within the unincorporated community of Lockwood, adjacent to the northeastern outskirts of Billings, Yellowstone County, Montana. The site is a chlorinated solvent groundwater plume comprised mostly of tetrachlorethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE), cis-1,2-dichloroethene (cis-1,2-DCE), and vinyl chloride. The source(s) and extent of the groundwater contamination will be determined during the remedial investigation. The site is within the Yellowstone River Basin. That part of the community adjacent to the Yellowstone River is within the 100-year flood plain. The Yellowstone River flows in a northeasterly direction, and forms the northern and western boundaries of the site. Rosebud Lane and Klenck Lane form the southern and eastern boundaries, respectively.
