Georgia-South Carolina Coastal Erosion Study: Phase 2 Southern Study Region. State of Knowledge Report and Semi-Annotated Bibliography.

摘要

The objectives of this State of Knowledge Report are to: (1) document basic and applied coastal research and coastal-engineering-related work that has been or is currently being conducted at the apex of the Georgia Bight, (2) identify information gaps and significant deficiencies pertaining to coastal geomorphology, shallow stratigraphic frameworks, physical coastal processes, and non-living resources, and (3) identify and prioritize areas where opportunities exist for future geologic research to further our understanding of coastal hazards and the evolution of trailing-edge continental margins. This report is intended to provide guidance to research scientists, practicing coastal geologists and engineers, coastal managers, environmental groups interested in the coastal environment, and educators.
