Review of Community Based Outpatient Clinics and Other Outpatient Clinics of Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany, New York.

The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected patient care activities to determine whether the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) and other outpatient clinics (OOCs) under the oversight of the Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center and Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 provide safe, consistent, and high-quality health care. The review evaluated the clinics’ compliance with selected requirements for alcohol use disorder, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) screening, and outpatient documentation. We also randomly selected the Plattsburgh CBOC, Plattsburgh, NY, as a representative site and evaluated the environment of care on October 7, 2014.
