This FY 2004 report addresses the major management challenges facing the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the Small Business Administration (SBA) as it seeks to maintain and strengthen the nation's economy by aiding, counseling, assisting, and protecting the interests of the nation's small businesses and by helping businesses and individuals recover from disasters. It includes a summary of actions that SBA has already taken and that are under way to address these challenges and outlines further actions that will be needed. This analysis should help Congress and the Administration to carry out their responsibilities and improve government for the benefit of the American people.
