Ownership and Contracting of Quality Healthcare Final rept. (Aug. 1, 2003-July 31, 2005)

摘要

Policymakers regulate and purchase health care from for-profit, nonprofit, and public providers. Most rigorous analysis of different ownership forms suggests differences in fundamental motivations and constraints. Yet much empirical evidence reveals substantial convergence of behavior. The project sought to reconcile theory and evidence through theoretical modeling, and to use this theory to analyze how purchasers should design contracts with consumers, plans, and providers to assure quality health care at a reasonable cost.
