Report to Congress on the Planned Remedies to the Vulnerabilities in the Commercial Driver's License Program

The Conference Report (H. Rpt. 106-355) accompanying the Department of Transportation and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2000 (P.L. 106-69), requested FHWA to submit a report on the planned remedies to the vulnerabilities in the CDL program. The assignment was transferred to FMCSA when it was established on January 1, 2000, by MCSIA. The report is divided into seven sections: Executive Summary; Introduction; Background; CDL Program Oversight; CDL Program Vulnerabilities; Remedies and Implementation Efforts; and Conclusion.
