摘要

Since the human mitochondrial genome was first sequenced in 1981 by Anderson et al., the sequence diversity of the mitochondrial genome has been well characterized and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) has proven to be a useful target for the analysis of forensic materials. With the support of the NIJ, we have developed a rapid method for analysis of sequence variation in the HVI and HVII regions of the human mitochondrial genome that utilizes the established technologies of PCR amplification and immobilized probe hybridization.
