Frontiers in Evolutionary Biology. Report of a Workshop. Held in March 2005

摘要

In reflecting on research frontiers that have emerged since 1998, two related trends are evident. First, evolutionary approaches and perspectives are increasingly an integral part of all areas of biological research, from molecular biology to macroecology. As a result, we are increasingly able to explore the mechanisms, processes and patterns of evolutionary change at multiple levels of biological organization from the gene to the ecosystem. Second, technological advances in genomics, computation, and informatics have provided a world of new tools and information to apply to evolutionary questions.
