Landbird Population Trends for Seven Great Lakes Network National Parks.

In recent decades, bird surveys in western Great Lakes national park units have documented avian communities for scientific, management, and interpretive purposes. Surveys targeted landbirds, particularly passerines and woodpeckers, during the peak of breeding season when detectability of birds is greatest due to territorial singing. The Great Lakes Network office has developed standard methods, which most parks have adopted, making data relatively comparable across the region. Seven of the nine Network parks have datasets spanning greater than five years that are analyzed in this report.
