摘要

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Health Services Research Institute (R13 HSO9262) is program for junior minority (African American, Hispanic, and Native American) faculty and U.S. medical schools to develop their skills in health services research. The focus of the programming centered on developing a concept paper into a research proposal suitable for submission to AHRQ, the NIH, or a foundation. Participants in the program were required to participate in three formal didactic sessions-a weeklong summer seminar, a 'reunion' seminar, and a mock study section. In between programs, fellows worked with a senior investigator at their home institution as they developed their research proposal. Between 1996 and 2002, fifty-four minority faculty participated in this program.
