Personal assessments of what is needed financially to provide for one's minimum level of living can be used to produce measures of economic well being. Household surveys are often sources of these data. The current study incorporates data from two U.S. federal household surveys, the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) and the Consumer Expenditure Survey (CE).
