摘要

The Northwest Fisheries Science Center's Fishery Resource Analysis and Monitoring Division conducted the fourth in a series of groundfish bottom trawl surveys along the U.S. West Coast upper continental slope from 24 June 2001 to 27 September 2001. The survey targeted the commercial groundfish resources inhabiting depths of 183 meters to 1,280 meters (100 fathoms to 700 fathoms) from the area off Cape Flattery, Washington (lat. 48 degrees 10'N), to Point Conception, California (lat. 34 degrees 15'N), using chartered West Coast trawlers. This survey was the fourth year of a relatively new annual series of surveys designed to monitor long-term trends in distribution and abundance of West Coast groundfish species. The objectives of this report are to document the survey design and analogous field procedures.
