摘要

Particle emissions from HVAC-components frequently induce irritation in skin, eyes and upper respiratory tracts. In the ILMI-project in 2003-2005 funded by Tekes and industry, particle emissions from HVAC-components were studied and new measurement and analytical methods and limit values were developed. The study consisted of laboratory tests and field sampling. The project was conducted by VTT and Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. Also two mineral fibre producers, two HVAC manufactures and a representative of end users were participating in the project. Fibre emissions from the round silencers of the HVAC-companies that participated in the project were studied in the laboratory tests by different methods (air flow, vibration and brushing). The amount of fibres that emitted were measured in accordance with the Finnish Classification of Indoor Climate 2000. The fibre concentration in the duct air flow varied depending on the device and the method in the range of 0.01.3000 fibres/m3.
