Slum Electrification and Loss and Reduction Program County Background Report India

摘要

This report provides a summary background on Indias slum electrification context in support of identifying potential in-country partners and possibly other donors with the same interest to select local projects that can benefit from the USAID/ICA joint program. Covered in the report are some relevant economic and population data, energy sector structure and regulatory perspective, major initiative on slum electrification, and potential partners and opportunities. Nexant is the technical assistance provider for the Sustainable Municipal Energy Services (SMES) task order under which technical assistance for this activity is provided.
