This report describes tourism route concepts in various countries such as the United States, Norway, Germany, and Sweden. Various types of tourism routes and their impact on the regional economy are depicted. Moreover, planning of tourism routes, including selection and quality criteria, is discussed. The report includes some recommendations for further development of tourism routes in Sweden.
