摘要

The University of Michigan In-depth Vehicle and Occupant Report (UMIVOR)1 is a form for the field recording of vehicle damage and occupant injuries sustained in motor vehicle traffic accidents. The report is intended to be used primarily for passenger cars, light trucks and vans. It is designed for data entry and subsequent computerization and all field measurements are recorded in metric units. The primary data sources for the UMIVOR data sets are the Washtenaw (UM) and Oakland County (OK) accident investigation teams which have collected data using the UMIVOR since July 1, 1978 under sponsorship of the American Automobile Manufacturers Association. The Oakland County team ceased data collection in April, 1980, while the Washtenaw County team continues to investigate cases and add them to the UMIVOR data sets. In addition, the Ann Arbor team (AA) has documented approximately 100 cases using the UMIVOR. The twentieth release (Update 20) of these data sets contains 3,879 vehicle, 6,038 occupant, and 27,210 injury records.
