摘要

The High Growth Job Training Initiative is designed to provide national leadership for a demand-driven workforce system that ensures no worker is left behind. It is a strategic effort to prepare workers for new and increasing job opportunities in high-growth/high demand and economically vital industries and sectors of the American economy. Through the initiative the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) identifies high-growth/high demand industries such as energy, works with industry leaders to determine their key workforce challenges, and invests in demonstration projects that ensure individuals gain the skills that they need to get good jobs with good wages in rapidly expanding or transforming industries. The foundation of this initiative is partnerships between the publicly funded workforce investment system, business and industry representatives, and education and training providers, such as community colleges. The purpose of these partnerships is to develop innovative solutions or replicate models that address a targeted industrys workforce issues.
