The Timber Procurement Assessment Committee, formerly know as the BRL, has started its work with the assessment of four timber certification systems for sustainable forest management. Three systems FSC, PEFC-Germany, and PEFC-Finland (FFCS) meet the Dutch procurement criteria for timber. TPAC has also made a start with the assessment of PEFC-International. Now that the Dutch government is effectively using TPAC to assess certification systems, some voices say that the industry might shift away from Keurhout and start using TPAC to assess sustainability as well.
