Price and Purity of Illicit Drugs: 1981-2007. Technical Report

This Technical Report is a companion document to the associated IDA Paper P- 4332, The Price and Purity of Illicit Drugs: 1981 2007, hereafter referred to as the Results Report. The primary objectives of these reports are to update previous estimates published by ONDCP in 2004, using the same Expected Purity Hypothesis (EPH) modeling methodology that produced the estimates given in the 2004 report, and to discuss the new results. All reported price and purity estimates were derived from records in the System To Retrieve Information from Drug Evidence (STRIDE) database maintained by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and furnished to ONDCP.
