Stable and Radioactive Isotopes. Industry and Trade Summary

This summary covers the industry that produces isotopes either artificially or by enriching natural sources of the isotopes. The U.S. isotopes industry (stable and radioactive) consists of private producers, the U.S. government, and universities. In addition, two other sectors are closely related to the isotopes industry--industries that manufacture products containing or requiring radioactive materials and industries that use products made with radioactive materials (such as hospitals and health-care facilities).
