Evaluation of Environmental Data Generated Since ATSDR's 2005 Public Health Assessment Molycorp NPL Site (Chevron Mining Inc.) Questa, New Mexico EPA Facility ID: NMD002899094

In May 2010, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposed the Molycorp (Chevron, Inc.) site in Questa, New Mexico to the National Priorities List for a second time. The proposal was repeated because EPA plans to finalize the listing and a significant amount of new data had been collected since the original 2000 proposed listing (personal communication, Mark Purcell, EPA Region 6, April 2011). ATSDR is required to conduct public health activities for every site proposed to the NPL. This memo evaluates whether ATSDRs previous activities related to the sites 2000 proposal to the NPL, culminating in a Public Health Assessment (PHA) finalized in 2005, are sufficient to address public health needs at this site.
