Commonwealth of Virginia Workforce Investment Act Title IB Annual Report for July 1, 2010-June 30, 2011.

Virginia is pleased to submit this annual report, providing an overview of our successes and some challenges in administering the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) in Program Year 2010. While we are fortunate in that many of our indicators of economic health suggest that we are faring better than the nation as a whole, job seekers and employers have continued need for workforce development services. WIA also has played an important role in supporting the job creation and educational attainment goals articulated by Governor McDonnell. This report highlights not just service numbers and program statistics, but also some insights into the people we have been able to help and the innovative strategies we have employed to continue to meet the challenges of a recovering economy.
