National Evaluation of Youth Corps: Findings at Follow-up

With funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), Abt Associates conducted the National Evaluation of Youth Corps (NEYC). The study was a multi-phased assessment from October 2005 through June 2011, and included baseline and two follow-up surveys of respondents, as well as case studies of specific program innovations. Through the study of 21 large youth corps programs in 11 states, researchers sought to understand what effect youth corps would have on expanding education, employment, and civic engagement growth opportunities for participants. The study included 2,500 Corpsmembers.
