The purpose of this mentored clinical scientist training award was to provide the protected time for the primary investigator to achieve two aims: 1) to obtain advanced training in health services research methods, and 2) to use these newly acquired skills to design, conduct, analyze and disseminate the findings of a sequence of research projects centered on evaluating the impact of the use of an electronic prescribing (or computerized provider order entry, CPOE) system on outcomes.
