Testing and Monitoring of Highway Bridges. Final Report for Task 1: Development of a Strategy to Recognize, Rehabilitate, and Replace Deficient Bridge Infrastructure.

摘要

The Federal Highway Administration launched the Long-Term Bridge Performance program to improve the knowledge of bridge performance over an extended period of time. In support of this program, academic researchers at Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma have taken substantial initial research steps beneficial to the programs goals. The researchers performed an initial assessment of static load monitoring as a potential bridge monitoring technique. The forensic analyses and initial load testing of two highway bridges also provides a performance data that future inspections and assessments can be compared back to. The performance data may also be used to support improved bridge designs in the future. Sensor technologies for remotely monitoring bridge scour were also evaluated during this project.
