Non-Indigenous Species in the Great Lakes: Ecology, Interactions, Impacts, and Future Research Directions

摘要

We describe the ecology, distribution, interactions with aquatic communities, the ecosystem, and environment, and document impacts on native species of aquatic nuisance species introduced into the Great Lakes. Early on, waterborne diseases in southern Lake Michigan resulted in human deaths and economic burdens for the residents of Chicago.
