Large Residentail Washers from Korea and Mexico. Investigation Nos. 701-TA-488 and 731-TA-1199-1200 (Preliminary).

On December 30, 2011, a petition was filed with the Commission and Commerce by Whirlpool Corporation, Benton Harbor, MI, alleging that an industry in the United States is materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of LTFV and subsidized imports of large residential washers from Korea and LTFV imports of large residential washers from Mexico. Accordingly, effective December 30, 2011, the Commission instituted countervailing duty investigation No. 701-TA-488 and antidumping duty investigation Nos. 731-TA-1199-1200 (Preliminary). Notice of the institution of the Commissions investigations and of a public conference to be held in connection therewith was given by posting copies of the notice in the Office of the Secretary, U.S. International Trade Commission, Washington, DC, and by publishing the notice in the Federal Register of January 9, 2012 (77 F.R. 1082). The conference was held in Washington, DC, on January, 20, 2012, and all persons who requested the opportunity were permitted to appear in person or by counsel.
