Equipment has been devised and constructed to test cast steel at temperatures (1250℃. To 1400℃.) near the solidification temperature of steel. This equipment consists of a small type tensile machine operating against a calibrated spring attached to the mold.nA test bar has been developed which shows a uniform temperature throughout its gage length.nPreliminary testing has established the nature of existent variations in results and the shape and trend of tensile strength and ductility (elongation) curves
