Tests on the Gould ULX-65 cell were carried out according to the procedure requested in the reference letter. Additional tests were undertaken in order to determine the condition of the element,nThe capacity of the cell was limited by the negative plate while loss in capacity on stand was due to self discharge at the negative plate with the evolution of hydrogen. Final examination of the element showed considerable disintegration of the positive grid structure and sulfation and hardening of the negative plates
