摘要

The magnitude of the jamming power required to be delivered to a radar receiver in order to screen (i.e., Jam, or mask) a radar echo signal of given amplitude, when the jamming signal modulation is clipped noise, is found to vary greatly with varying values of radar receiver bandwidth. The required ratio of jamming power to echo "pulse power" may be as great as 100:1 when the radar receiver bandwidth is equal to or greater than the jamming signal bandwidth. On the other hand the ratio approaches unity as the radar receiver bandwidth becomes small compared to the jamming; signal bandwidth, if only the jamming power contained in the receiver pass band is considered.
