The following note will be devoted to a comparison of the various properties of the polar stereographic, gnomonic, and transverse Mercator projections, for the purpose of determining their relative suitabilities for polar aeronau¬tical charts. Where the proofs of certain mathematical formulae involved are short, they will be included, along with certain data derived from these formulae. It will be the aim of this note to state the facts regarding each projection, rather than to argue in favor of one or another.. After all, the facts, if stated correctly, will speak for themselves
