FINAL REPORT ON REFLECTION-REDUCING COATINGS

The work done by the Chemistry Division of the Naval Research Laboratory has covered various procedures for producing one-, two-, and three-layered reflection-reducing coatings for glass and has demonstrated the advantages and limitations of each typo. The theoretical considerations have been worked out to such an extent that a reasonable prediction of the results obtainable with almost any combination of films may be made. The discordance of theoretical and experimental curves has been satisfactorily explained by an analysis of the various factors involved in these coatings,
