A Lumped-Constant Electrical Analog of a Beam Vibrating in Flexure

摘要

An eight-terminal network analogous to a short section of continuous beam is developed. The analog of a complete beam is then obtained by cascading the required number of these elemental networks. An analysis of such a cascade shows that the analog becomes exactly equivalent to a continuous beam as the number of elemental networks is taken indefinitely large. The error in the analog due to lumping la tabulated for various numbers of sections per wavelength, showing that an analog of approximately ten sections par wavelength represents a continuous beam with accuracy adequate for engineering applications.
