Oxygen uptake was not maximal at the critical thickness of kindney slices(0.28 ㎜). Instead respiration was inversely proportional to the thickness of the slices between 0.18 and 0.34㎜.nThe respiration of thick kidney slices was greater than could be explained by the limiting thickness formula.
