Two supplementary experiments in connection with the chevron runway marking (the most ef¬ficient one according to Report No. 1 of the study) were made. (1) Five chevrons differing as to their angle (30.60.90.120, and 150 degrees) were studied by means of the fog simulator. The result was that C he chevron of 90 degrees proved to be the most efficient one. (a) The ef¬fect of perspective distortion on the appearance of the chevron marking was studied in view of the fact that the pilot of a landing aircraft views the marking pattern on the runway at a rather small angle (3 degrees).
