A correlation has teen established between the results of rain-room tests on garment and snatches and the results of the following laboratory tests: drop-penetration, du l’ont rain test, and hydrostatic pressure,nTwo series of fabrics were used for this study. The first (Series I) included seven commercial and military type materials whose resistance to penetration varied from very poor to vary food. The second (Series II) consisted of 25 experimental materials of excellent water resistance which had been produced with controlled variations in constructional factor! such as yarn twist, size, and ply; texture and weight.
