A multiport valve has been developed for the purpose of venting submarine underwater logs while submerged. It is a poppet type valve designed to withstand the high pressures encountered when venting under submerged conditions as well as under the relatively low pressures when venting on the surface. High-pressure and low-pressure endurance tests and salt water corrosion tests on the valve demonstrate that it will be satisfactory for service conditions.
