1. The leaks in jugs develop very slowly and are not easily recog-nized.n2. The leaking fruit juices ferment in the insulating material of the jug.n3. The gains in weight will not show a steady increase unless the jugs are continually used. A decrease of the previous gains in weight is noted when jugs are not continually used and during periods of high temperatures; this is due to the drying of the insulating material.
