The work performed by the Petroleum Refining Laboratory, Pennsylvania State College, was directed toward the investigation of lubricant and fluids. These studies included oxidation stability, corrosion resistance, low temperature stability, lubricity of fluids and lubricants, thermal stability, shear stability, development of synthetic base stocks, lubricant additives, non-flammable fluids, viscosity index improvers, and fluid volatility.nThe security classification of the title of this report is UNCLASSIFIED.
