The various processes available for the production of fine iron are discussed and the most suitable iron powder was obtained by the decomposition of organic iron salts, such as ferrous formate.nThe preliminary work shows that the material has great promise as a nonstrategic substitute for Alnico II with some theoretical basis for improvement of present magnetic properties and that further work should be undertaken to fully investigate its properties.
