Ceramic Nozzles, a Metallographic Examination of Eroded Hot-Pressed Ceramic Nozzles for Recoilless Weapons

Eroded, hot-pressed ceramic nozzles, comprised of various oxides, nitrides, carbides, and borides were sectioned, mounted, polished, etched, and examined metallographically for evidence of the mechanism of erosion. Knoop hardness measurements were made on each material.
