REFLECTION AND TRANSMISSION OF ULTRASONIC WAVES BY A SOLID PLATE IN WATER AND THEIR EFFECT ON ULTRASONIC MODEL THEORY

摘要

Reflection and transmission of ultrasonic waves at a frequency of one megacycle by a solid aluminum plate immersed in water are studied experimentally and found to agree with theory. The results obtained are used to establish general requirements for modeling a submarine for ultrasonic test purposes. Recommendations for further study are set forth.
