摘要

Specimen blanks of martensitic SAE 3140 steel were tempered for short times at several temperatures between 500 and 675°C to give various hardnesses ranging from Rockwell C 20 2/1 to C 38. Comparisons of energy levels in the V-notched Charpy test were made at 200°C above the tempera-ture of transition from ductile to brittle failure.
