A group of fabricated textile materials including seam samples were tested at four specific temperature conditions. The samples included thread and suspension line as well as cloth. The seam samples were constructed as called out in parachute fabrication drawings for two needle seams, and skirt butterfly attachments.nThe strength of several nylon materials was found to vary with temperature. It was found that the sensitivity to temperature is due in part to geometric influences on the inherent yarn strength. During the preheating of the nylon materials, sufficient dehydration took place causing a loss in efficiency at 210℉.
