The present notes begin with the derivation of an adequate representation for the 3 matrix in meson-nude on scattering; and continue with the definition of a retarded function M which is equal to the S matrix in the physical domain. The causality con¬dition is then imposed. Finally, the dispersion relations are derived, and an application is made to experimental data on pion nucleon scattering.
