摘要

The processing of spherical stainless steel powder particles by compact¬ing and sintering methods is described. Room temperature air permeability and tensile strength and stress rupture data at 1100°F are reported.nPorous specimens were prepared from six particle size fractions to den-sities ranging from 75% to 90%of the density of the solid material and the thicknesses ranging from 0.040 inch to 0.200 inch by various combinations of compacting and coining pressures. Sintering time, temperature, and at¬mosphere were held constant. Methods of separating spherical particles from an aggregate of particle shapes are discussed.nThe permeability data are presented in the form of a D'Arcy coefficient of permeability and also as a relationship between the pressure differential across the compact and the volumetric rate of ail flow through the compact.
