摘要

Mean and local turbulent skin friction coefficients for a smooth flat plate were experimentally determined over a Mach Number range of 1.62 to 2.50 and a Reynolds Number range of 3.5 x 10 to 2 x 10.nTwo experimental methods were employed in the tests. Pitot-probe boundary layer surveys and direct measurements of local shear force by means of small skin friction balances were employed simultaneously. The results from these two methods were compared on a direct drag basis and it was found that the results from the local shear force measurements were, in general, a few percent lower than those obtained from the Pitot probe measurements.
