In the course of research on butt-joined am¬monium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) crystal plates, a test having a wide range of application has been developed for the investigation of the solvent resistance of adhesive bonds. Its chief advantage is the elimination of -supplementary mechanical tests required in the conventional method of testing. The test showed that, for the cases investigated, the solvent resistance of adhesive bonds is inversely proportional to the bond thickness.
