摘要

An analysis of capacitor constructions is made including mathematical derivations pertaining to dielectric material requirements necessary to fulfill the volume specifi¬cations of this contract.nA comprehensive study of known dielectrics organic and inorganic, applicable to this problem is presented. Dielectric materials described are:polymeric films, metallised paper, mica, and ceramics. The reasons for rejection of certain dielectrics for use in this contract are discussed.nA thorough evaluation of impregnants for use in the sub-miniature metallized paper capacitor is presented. The new techniques of impregnation developed under this contract for polysiloxane impregnated metallized paper capacitors are described.nComplete procedures of assembly for the sub-miniature mica and metallised paper capacitors are listed. Illustrations, where applicable, are included. The accomplishments of these two successfully developed capacitors as well as production feasibility are discussed.
