POHLHAUSEN-TYPE, LAMINAR, INCOMPRESSIBLE BOUNDARY LAYER SOLUTIONS

A relatively complete review and comparison of the existing Pohihauson-type, laminar, incompressible boundary layer solutions is presented.n An integral-type solution is developed on the basis of Timman's velocity profiles. The accuracy of this method is determined by comparing the results obtained from example problems, with exact solutions and experimental results.n It is recommended that either Thwaites' solution or the proposed solution be employed for determining the boundary layer parameters for flow over arbitrarily-shaped bodies.
